2025 has been a tough year for economic management


Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has admitted that 2025 has been a difficult year for managing Ghana’s economy.

‎Shortly after presenting the Mid-Year Budget Statement to Parliament on 24 July 2025.

Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson said the government’s economic team has faced serious challenges but remains focused.

‎“This year has been difficult; maybe we are not saying it. It has been difficult for us, the economic managers,” he said.

“It’s only that we’re focused and we are dealing with the situations.”

‎His comments reflect the pressures facing the Mahama administration as it works to stabilise the economy and strengthen public financial systems.

‎Earlier in Parliament, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson announced several fiscal and structural reforms aimed at boosting growth and making the economy more resilient.

‎Despite the current hardships, the Finance Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to rebuilding the economy and achieving long-term stability.
