Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has admitted that 2025 has been a difficult year for managing Ghana’s economy.
Shortly after presenting the Mid-Year Budget Statement to Parliament on 24 July 2025.
Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson said the government’s economic team has faced serious challenges but remains focused.
“This year has been difficult; maybe we are not saying it. It has been difficult for us, the economic managers,” he said.
“It’s only that we’re focused and we are dealing with the situations.”
His comments reflect the pressures facing the Mahama administration as it works to stabilise the economy and strengthen public financial systems.
Earlier in Parliament, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson announced several fiscal and structural reforms aimed at boosting growth and making the economy more resilient.
Despite the current hardships, the Finance Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to rebuilding the economy and achieving long-term stability.
