Vice-President, Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has praised mothers of special needs children, acknowledging their strength and sacrifices.
She reaffirmed her lifelong advocacy for children with neurodevelopmental conditions like autism and pledged continued support.
Speaking at GTBank Ghana’s Annual Autism Workshop, she applauded parents for managing challenges with determination and love.
The event took place at UPSA, where the Vice-President toured awareness clinics and met with doctors and specialists.
She interacted with children and caregivers, offering words of encouragement and urging them to remain hopeful and positive.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang recalled her time as Education Minister, noting policies introduced for children with learning difficulties and speech issues.
She expressed hope that the special education frameworks were being implemented effectively across the country.
She commended GTBank Ghana for leading autism advocacy through workshops, consultations and therapeutic support services.
The Vice-President said the bank’s consistent commitment to inclusion reflects true corporate social responsibility.
She stressed the importance of building a society that embraces all children, regardless of developmental differences.
