A 38-year-old registered sex offender, Calese Carron Crowder was arrested in California after allegedly sniffing a woman’s buttocks inside a Nordstrom Rack store.
The incident happened last Tuesday at the Burbank Empire Center. Police say they received reports about a suspicious man hanging around the women’s section of the store.
By the time officers arrived, the suspect had already left. Authorities later found Crowder inside a nearby Walmart.
Surveillance footage reportedly showed him crouching behind a woman and sniffing her from behind.
He was arrested and charged with one count of loitering with intent to commit a crime.
Police confirmed that Crowder is a registered sex offender who was on parole. He also has a criminal history of lewd conduct dating back to 2021.
One of Crowder’s past alleged victims, Michaela Witter said she recorded him sniffing her inside a Barnes & Noble in Burbank.
She later shared the footage on TikTok to raise awareness.
“I feel like the justice system is just neglecting everything,” Witter said.
“It’s crazy to think that someone like this, who’s constantly stalking and violating these people, is allowed to be out and about.”
Police are continuing their investigation.
