Parliament has approved four deputy ministers appointed by President Mahama after a consensus by the Appointments Committee.
The nominees include Prof. Grace Ayensu-Danquah (Health), Dorcas Affo-Toffey (Transport), James Gyakye Quayson (Foreign Affairs) and Mohammed Adams Sukparu (Communication).
Members of Parliament adopted the Appointments Committee’s report during the sitting on Monday, July 29, completing the vetting process.
Committee Chair Bernard Ahiafor presented the report, noting public input, document review and a hearing held on July 25.
He said each nominee answered questions about qualifications, experience and policy vision for their respective ministries.
“The Committee found them competent and suitable, recommending their approval by consensus,” Mr. Ahiafor told the House.
The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Bagbin, referred the nominations to the Committee on July 17, 2025.
President Mahama submitted the names under Articles 78(1) and 79(1) of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana.
