Military intensifies Bawku operations


The Ghana Armed Forces has stepped up its operations in Bawku, Nalerigu and nearby towns to restore calm and safety.

‎A military statement released on Thursday, July 31 said the new phase began on Tuesday, July 29, with air and ground patrols.

‎Residents were urged to follow all safety instructions. The curfew has changed from 2:00 p.m.–6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.–6:00 a.m.

‎“The Ghana Armed Forces is committed to restoring peace and calls for community support and cooperation,” the statement noted.

The army also cautioned bloggers and media to stop sharing old videos as if they are from the current operation.

‎“Sharing outdated military videos as current news is misleading and increases public fear,” the statement warned.
