Rosemond Obeng, a former disgruntled receptionist at the office of the former Vice President, Dr. Mahama Bawumia has been appointed as Presidential Aid to President John Mahama.
She defected from the NPP to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) just days before the December 2024 general elections.
Rosemond Obeng switch generated controversy; NPP members labeled her a “betrayer,” and she publicly criticized Bawumia, claiming he lacked “courage and leadership”
Her appointed which has sent shock waves among the NDC fraternity with many reacting bitterly.
Many who are staunched NDC sympathizers claim the John Mahama led NDC is gradually losing it after series of appointments which according to them are out of line.
However, Rosemond Obeng’s appointment is seen as a reward for her bold decision to abandon the NPP and speak out against its leadership.
The NDC grassroot are complaining that, many of its members who worked tirelessly are not rewarded but an outsider is being given an appointment at the seat of Government.
